Christian Community Living At Easter

What is Christian Community Living and why is it worth talking about around Easter? For starters, there really is no one definition of Christian community living. Any situation where a group of Christians actively practice their faith while reguarly being involved in each other's lives is technically Christian community living.

That being said, retirement homes, summer camps, boarding schools, or any other formal living arrangement which groups Christians together is probably the best real world example of the concept in action. These places function very similarly compared to their secular counterparts, only making principles and igonography associated with their faith more explicit in terms of official rules, ploicies, and maybe office decorations.

What does all that have to do with Easter?

Well, we created this site firstly as a little reminder of when the holiday takes place this year but also to show how celebrating any holiday with people you care about is a small act of Christian community living. Take a look at the photo album. Each group is together to celebrate Easter, no matter how religious the part is, since it's a Christian celebration the temporary community it forms is a Christian one. However you interpret Christian values around Easter is up to you. Please remember that when you hold a celebration you are forming a small community and try to build it around joy, inclusiveness, and helping others-values that just so happen to be some of Christ's favourites.
